French Toast is this Girl’s Best Friend

Fun with French Toast

Marilyn Monroe coined the lyrics, “Diamonds are a girls best friend” in her performance in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. While I agree with this notion, diamonds cannot easily be made, nor can you have them every day. French toast, on the other hand, is a different story.

A few days ago, I received the April edition of Food Network Magazine. Boy was I ecstatic to see a spread of french toast. If you know anything about my food preferences, I could probably live forever happy on french toast and pasta bolognese.

What I liked most about this spread was that the french toast really surpassed the norm of its usual egg battered presentation. Photographs, taken by Andrew Purcell, highlighted 6 different breads that were incorporated for this tasty dish:

Strawberry Rhubarb Stuffed French Toast{Strawberry Rhubarb Stuffed French Toast}

Caramelized Sourdough French Toast{Caramelized Sourdough French Toast}

Cornflake-Crusted French Toast with Banans{Cornflake-Crusted French Toast with Bananas}

Chocolate Hazelnut French Toast with Raspberry Syrup{Chocolate Hazelnut French Toast with Raspberry Syrup}

Baked Croissant French Toast with Orange Syrup{Baked Croissant French Toast with Orange Syrup}

I’m going to try the Rum French Toast first. Which would you try first??
